A classic style collar simply slips over your hound’s head and then ‘slide adjusts’ to fit. This style of collar is suitable for walking calm dogs. To remove, you will need to open it up again and then slip over your dog’s head.

A martingale style collar (sometimes known as a safety collar) slips over your hound’s head, ‘slide adjusts’ to fit, leaving a ‘semi choke’ loop where the lead attaches to the fitted ‘D’ ring. This style of collar is perfect for all hounds but particularly suitable for walking the most boisterous or nervous of dogs. Once adjusted to fit for the first time of use, the collar simply slips over your dog’s head with no need for further adjustment.

A tag collar (sometimes known as a house collar) is a simple, snap fastening collar to attach your hound’s id to. These collars should be worn at all times and can be used in conjunction with either of the other two styles. This collar is not recommended for attaching a lead to for walking.
